A Girl's Journey Living in Japan

Welcome to Rice and Miso Everyday Рyou might be wondering why I came up with that name? Well, after some travel around Asia I decided to move to Japan to teach English and to indulge in rice and miso Рeveryday ha ha.

Originally from Australia, my name is Gemma and I’m in my mid twenties.

I recently graduated and had no idea what I wanted to do – so I decided to travel. Teaching in Japan was the obvious choice for me because I have always been fascinated by Japanese culture and the food is great. Also, after being a student for so long I really needed to finally earn some cash. Midway through last year I took up a job offer here and haven’t looked back since. There’s so much to see and do in Japan that I hope I can help you if you are planning to teach English here, planning a holiday or just curious about what I’m up to.

I think I’ll extend my time in Japan by another year to save up more money, then I’ll be planning a round-the-world trip. I really can’t wait.

Thanks so much for dropping by my little corner of the online world – I hope you have a great stay and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
